K-12 student performance has been broken for decades Enjoy these slides with a cup of coffee The first time you view the homepage, try not to click the links The horror story is revealed by NAEP (the National Assemment of Education Progress) It's called the "Nation's Report Card," and the U.S. Depart of Ed (the DOE) has no solution How bad? Over half of all K–12 grads are not proficient in reading or math The DOE would have shocked President Kennedy—as it did Reagan and now Trump ONLY TRUE INNOVATION can transform U.S. K-12 student performance But implementing innovation such as the HSe4Metrics platform takes courage First, it’s expensive, even though it might generate $trillions in GDP gains Second, innovation results are unknown until it is tested Third, the HSe4Metrics innovation must be free for K-12 students So who will pay for it? The federal government routinely pays for high-impact innovation—if deemed important But is K-12 student performance important enough? This "explainer" site is not for K-12 students. It is for you! Media says only 50% of K-12 grads can read, but NAEP SAYS ONLY 25% Media says only 50% of K-12 grads can do math, but NAEP says no, it's only 24% To keep it simple, this site will use media's 50% (although it's worse) Fact: NAEP is the "Nation's Report Card"—it's an Act of Congress Fact: NAEP are for the 50 states' K-12 students. Yes, the states have always had control Many parents know their K-12 grads are considered not educated or trainable Should the U.S. Depart of Ed be closed. No, just re-legislated by Congress The DOE should implement and test the free-access HSe4Metrics platform innovation Every American can ask federal and state leaders to review this explainer site If federal leaders fail to respond, let's pay lobbyists to reach them PAID LOBBYISTS insist that they can do what is needed A $5 fundraising campaign might be sufficient to retain lobbyists NO, THERE IS NO CAMPAIGN AT THIS TIME (SLIDES HAVE ENDED)
